Anmeldung im Bürgerbüro
Bitte halten Sie folgende Unterlagen bereit:
- Wohnungsgeberbescheinigung des Vermieters (ausgedruckt)
- Ausweisdokumente im Original (keine Kopie)
- Angaben zum Familienstand und der Religion werden abgefragt
Allgemeine Informationen
Umzug in Deutschland:
Wenn Sie in Deutschland umziehen melden Sie sich direkt bei der neuen Meldebehörde an (Rathaus).
Eine Abmeldung bei Ihrem bisherigen Wohnsitz ist nicht erforderlich.
Umzug in das Ausland:
Sie geben Ihren Wohnsitz in Deutschland auf, dann sind Sie verpflichtet sich bei ihrer aktuellen Meldeadresse abzumelden. Eine Abmeldung kann für maximal 7 Tage in die Zukunft erfolgen.
Beitragsservice ARD / ZDF
Sie erhalten Post vom Beitragsservice?
Für eine Wohnung in Deutschland muss ein Rundfunkbeitrag gezahlt werden. Leben mehrere Personen zusammen können sich die weiteren Personen für diese Gebühr abmelden. Dafür nehmen Sie direkt über die Homepage die Abmeldung vor und geben an welche Person bereits für die Wohnung bezahlt.
Die Angabe der Beitragsnummer und dem Namen des Beitragszahlers sind erforderlich.
Steuer-ID
Ihre Steuer-ID wird Ihnen frühestens 2 Wochen nach Anmeldung im Bürgerbüro durch das Bundeszentralamt für Steuern per Post zugesandt.
Aufenthaltstitel
Nach Anmeldung im Bürgerbüro nehmen Sie bitte Kontakt mit der Ausländerbehörde des Landratsamtes Schmalkalden-Meiningen auf. Ansprechpartner hierfür ist:

Registration at the citizens‘ office
Please keep the following documents at hand:
- tenancy confirmation letter by the landlord (printed)
- original pieces of identification (no copies)
- information about marital status and religion will be requested
General information
Moving within Germany:
If you move within Germany, you have to register at the new registry office (town hall). A deregistration at your previous place of residence is not necessary.
Moving abroad:
If you give up your residence in Germany, you are obligated to deregister at your current registration address. A deregistration can be made for a maximum of 7 days in advance.
Contribution service ARD / ZDF
Did you get mail by the contribution service?
For a residence in Germany you have to pay a broadcasting licence fee. If multiple people live together, the other persons can deregister from that fee. In that case, you deregister directly via the website and indicate which person is already paying for that residence.
The contribution number and the name of the contributor are required.
Tax ID number
Your tax ID number will be sent to you by the Federal Central Tax Office earliest 2 weeks after your registration at the citizens‘ office.
Semester fees
In the past, the semester fees were partially reimbursed by the city of Schmalkalden. This is currently not offered.
Residence permit
After the registration at the citizens‘ office, please contact the immigration authority at Landratsamt Schmalkalden-Meiningen. Contact person:
